Come and work with me making brilliant stuff for the web

So my track record helping Trinity Mirror launch UsVsTh3m, Ampp3d and Row Zed is pretty OK, and you like making brilliant fun shareable content for the web, so why on earth wouldn’t we want to do that together?

I’m looking for a Head of Social Content for Mirror.co.uk to help me build and run a small team dedicated to making that kind of stuff for Mirror.co.uk and our social media accounts, and you’ve got until August 8th to apply. So do that.

Here’s what the job ad says…

Trinity Mirror has launched several innovative projects, such as UsVsTh3m, Ampp3d and Row Zed. We now want to apply these approaches more widely on our biggest website, mirror.co.uk, to help continue its more than 100% year on year growth.

The head of social content will be responsible for creating and commissioning innovative, compelling content for mirror.co.uk that is widely shared. This is a senior role (with a salary to match for the right person) and so you will also help drive the wider newsroom’s understanding of new ways to tell stories and reach audiences. You’ll report directly to Martin Belam, the editor of new formats and will work across all the main sections of the site. As part of our ongoing digital investment, it’s likely that this role will have a couple of direct reports in the future.

The successful candidate will have experience of producing innovative content for a professional publisher that has been widely shared on social media. Ideally, you will have helped other journalists to develop similar skills, have a track record of driving innovation, or been responsible for successful interactive content. You’ll understand how to appeal to Reddit, Twitter and Facebook – and the different approaches required for each.
